CoinLoupe is provided by Loved Scents LLC ("we"). We collect as little as possible.
To identify a coin, CoinLoupe sends the coin photo(s) you take through our server to Google's Gemini API. If that service isn't available (for example when you're offline or past your scan limit), CoinLoupe reads the coin on your iPhone instead. Photos are sent only for identification, are not stored by us, and are not linked to your name or Apple ID. Google processes them under the Gemini API Additional Terms and the Google Privacy Policy; on the paid Gemini API service Google states that prompts and responses are not used to improve its products. Please photograph only the coin, not people or documents.
With each cloud identification request our server receives the photo(s), a random app-generated device identifier (not your name, email or advertising ID) used only to enforce scan limits, and, if you subscribe, Apple's signed proof of your subscription. We keep only counters (number of scans per device or subscription per day) and no photos.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. Apple sends us signed notifications about subscription events (for example a new subscription, renewal or refund) with the price and product, which we use only to keep a revenue total. We never receive your payment details.
Your coin collection, values, notes and checklist progress are stored only on your iPhone (and in your device backups). The widget reads this on-device data.
CoinLoupe has no account, no advertising, no analytics SDKs and no tracking across apps or websites.
Delete coins in the app, or delete CoinLoupe to remove all of its data from your iPhone. Scan counters on our server contain no personal data and expire or can be deleted on request.
CoinLoupe is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
